Yoga & ayurveda retreat at the idyllic Satsanga, Goa, India

23 - 30 December 2017
Teachers: Tami Hafzalla & Dr Aruna Viswanathan

Cost from £675
Yoga and Ayurveda are sister sciences that have been practiced for thousands of years to bring harmony to the body, mind, and consciousness. In beautiful Goa we feel the spirit and vibrancy of India, the birthplace of Yoga & Ayurveda.
The daily programme

During our week together we will weave teachings and practices from the sister sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda through asana practice, lecture, dietary and lifestyle recommendations, recipes and self massage with Ayurvedic oils. We will share our most cherished practices to sustain balance and connect with our peaceful inner essence.

You will learn about how Ayurveda is a practice of living in balance with your constitution, your environment, the elements and the seasons. You will learn how to evaluate your prakruti (original constitution), and vikruti (present constitutional imbalance) and learn routines and practices that will nourish you and enhance your well-being. This retreat is a beautiful opportunity to drop into yourself, deeply relax and be nourished in a truly delightful setting.

Dr. Aruna Viswanathan is a beloved Ayurvedic doctor who lives in Goa. She will be sharing with us in lectures and personal consultations. This is such a gift and a rare opportunity to be in the presence and learn from a masterful Ayurvedic physician.

Tami will share morning practices inspired and informed by Ayurvedic wisdom. Sequences will be active, warming and strength-building as well as gentle slow flow, restorative, meditative, and including pranayama. The intention is to leave the practice feeling fully restored, grounded and calm.

This retreat is open to all levels of experience in Yoga and Ayurveda. The intention is to create a nurturing environment for you to move deeply into new and familiar practices.

Dr. Aruna Viswanathan is an internationally renowned Surgeon and Holistic health expert treating patients from all over the world. She is sought after as a rare medical expert for treating patients with integrative options and offering new science beyond commercial mainstream medicine where it can save a life.

Comments about Satsanga

'The Yoga and Ayurveda retreat was an incredible experience. Tami is brilliant - a very kind and attentive teacher, and a local Ayurvedic doctor joined her in sharing Ayurveda. It was great to learn from someone so rooted in the tradition. Combining Yoga and Ayurveda was a very good experience, making me more aware of how my lifestyle affects my health, and the small choices one can make to improve it every day. I'd highly recommend to anyone wanting to get deeper into their yoga practice and anyone who is interested in ways they can take responsibility for their own health!' Adam
